TREMORS IN SINGAPORE

I posted on my FB account: felt the earthquake @ 6:15pm which lasted 2-3mins...thought i was just HB & felt a bit dizzy like floors and doors moved (glad im not at all HB and that we are safe).. an earthquake with magnitude of 7.6 jolted Indonesia's West Sumatra province at Sumatra Island which set tremors in Singapore as well...

During that time i was on the phone talking with my cuz and she too felt the tremor and so we hang up immediately..just in case. I asked my girls, who is at home with me, if they felt the earthquake they said no. So i went back on the computer with my nephew who is online at home in Philippines. Then suddenly there was some earth shaking again and that time my girls felt it for it lasted a little longer than the first one. I told them to be ready just in case coz we are on the 3rd floor of the building. We're glad it stopped and and we're safe. I told my nephew we had an earthquake and he immediately asked where i was. I told him i was home. He then said what are you doing there? Building collapse during an earthquake. I know he was scared and concerned about me so i told him. Yes i know and that im all ready to get out just in case it happens again and in intense shaking.

What's happening in the world? Philippines was just hit by typhoon "ondoy" (which accdg to the news more worst than the typhoon "katrina" that struck US) and another low pressure "pepe" in there now showering them heavy rains. In all these disaster, i am just hoping and praying to keep my family always safe for i am far away from them.

God Bless us all and keep us all safe always...

SOME LIKE IT HOT & I DON'T!

What a really hot day! As usual im at the airport again and having headache because of the heat. I hate this kind of weather!

On my way back home from Orchard, along marina (near Suntec city), is this "Fountain of Wealth" (one of the largest in the world), where i want to have a splash during that time. Oh how i wished!!

Global warming, indeed. Poor earth and it's inhabitant. If this is how it is now what more in the future? I will die for sure!

MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Lantern Festival, is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, which is usually around mid or late September in the Gregorian Calendar. It is a date that parallels the autumn and spring Equinoxes of the solar calendar, when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and roundest.

Went to Takashimaya to drop some cheques. Mid Autumn Celebration is being held at the basement area of the mall. And what are in stores?? MOONCAKES!!!

Yummy! Mooncakes being sold in different flavors, sizes, colors and boxes! Well, they're expensive at this time.

I love moon cakes especially the ones with salted duck eggs. I had my piece last saturday. What i had was the one which is green inside and with crunchy white little seeds inside which i believe to be from watermelons, well, like that kind. :)

A TIRING DAY

Road Show for the realty group we tied up with. This mini mask was taken at YMCA where we held the first dry run.

Sunday, 20 sept 2009, On our way to the other venue where we're going to meet with the clients. Photo below was taken inside the car while somewhere along Chinatown.

The last two photos were taken at Bonifacio. We occupied the whole resto for the said event. Not much fun at that time...just trying to work. I was so tired after we call it a day.

ON THE OTHER SIDE

The usual, on my way to the airport. This morning it was raining in this area..yes just in this area. Singapore's location doesn't experience much rain that's why it doesn't have water reserves much. It's like it will rain here and not there.

Like after few kilometers after this it isn't raining. Often times along the highway bikers still got time to stop and wear raincoats before continuing their journey on a rainy sky. I experienced this first in 2006 wherein i was walking and can see that it's raining on my side and not on the other. Was thinking if only like one can just step out on the other side and will be like in a place wherever she wants to be...that will be cool!

ON CALL

Like other services at times i need to go to some clients for important documents may it be day or night. Time is so important to us and so we are always on the go. Btw, photo above taken at the house in the corner of a street where i stand waiting for taxi. Creepy? well a little, for i was standing there alone and was so unlucky to have available taxi in that area. I was forced to walk some blocks and rode a bus to our place. It's a good walk anyways! :)

IT MADE MY DAY

Had an early walk along Marine Parade road. Reached just few blocks from home then needed to get back to prepare for a busy day.

This road leads to Changi Airport.
Along Marine Parade

Got a real busy sched in the morning and afternoon (with a lot of phone calls and errands to attend to). In the afternoon we went to Takahimaya to get something needed for the launching. On the way back to the office, we passed by food court in the basement. I am not into sweets much but cheesecakes are one of my favorites. I saw this Blueberry cheesecake from Swissbake so i gave it a try. I asked for a slice praying it wont be too sweet for me. It was so yummy! Crust not thick and not too sweet! In short, I love it!

And since we are on the go, i had it while walking fast on our way back to the office. The cheesecake made my day! LOL!

FLOWERS IN THE CITY OF GARDEN

On my way to the airport. Weather so hot!!! I so hate it when it's like that. I remember when i was young, hot weather made my nose bleed often times.

Changi airport never runs out of flower arrangement displays. You can see them all around in different varieties. Mostly they have orchids and bromeliads. Now on display there are marigolds, cosmos and these summer flowers in yellow and red.

This flower arrangement below got this awesome cabbage like flower. I can't resist taking a shot of them. Together with them in the arrangements were orchids, crab claws and other like tropical frowers.

I've been wanting to get this book and finally i got a copy. Got this at Time Newslink at the airport. Took a note when the film will be shown. Will not miss this one for sure.

ARTSY

It was Sunday but i get to go home early. Riding the public transport when i took the photos. This place is just near the church. I have never been inside. Hopefully soon.

Singapore Art Museum

SHOPPING HEAVEN

This is Orchard Road the shopping district of Singapore. Malls and shops stand side by side around the place. Tourists would never fail to visit this area when in this country.

Paragon
The newly opened ION
Ion stands on top of Orchard Station. It houses well known brands such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Dior and more. The mall design is unique and a bit high class. Futuristic, steel and glasses comprise the design of its building. For info, i think Filipino architects were part of building this new mall, in design aspects i think. Yayy!

Takashimaya
Now how can you save money when you see these places all around? :)

THE ONE WHO LOVES ME MOST

The Cathedral of Good Shepherd
Bras Basah, Singapore

If not here in Cathedral of Good Shepherd i go attend sunday mass at Novena Church. I am glad to see different races have the same faith as mine. I may not be as devoted as others, but i do love my Strength who always gives me something to hold on when i feel like drifting, Love when i feel like i don't have anybody and Hope when i feel like giving up. We have a good relationship, My Lord and I, for He is always by my side and never leaves me alone not even for a second. He makes me laugh when i need some cheering up. He provides everything i need without spoiling me. He planned everything for me and my family. I will brag that truly, He is my Life. All praises and heartfelt thanks to my Lord Jesus Christ, the one who loves me the most!

NOTHING ELSE COMES CLOSE

Marina Baby area put up their steel fences back for the celebration of the FORMULA ONE (F1) this coming 25-27 September 2009. This will be the second time that it will be held here in Singapore. The sound of speed will be soon be heard again. Wish my nephew Kurt will be here to watch it. He was frustrated last May learning that the race will be here only later part of the the year. He loves race cars. He was so excited when he saw Ferrari cars on the road when he came here last vacation.

Colored seats and steel fences along Nicoll Highway

Video below shows the Marina Bay Street Circuit, Singapore

Singapore Grand Prix 2008 was a success and gave the F1 drivers bumpy rides. Massa won the night race despite the accident he encountered earlier.

Souvenir items available already in some malls and for sure more along Orchard Rd during the week of the event. Ferrari cars will be seen on the road again and i just wish i can get good shots of them...they're just too fast at times.LOL!

Talking about cars, do you think i've chosen the right color?

LOL! Damn one hot thang!

NOW SHOWING

Kallang Theatre Mall

At days when we get spare time at night we get ourselves to watch some movies. There in Kallang Theatre where we usually go. If not in Kallang i usually go Shaw house in Orchard or at Bugis Junction. But if i'll be coming from home, Kallang is the nearest place to go. The latest movie we watched was "Year One"...well some good laughs before we call it a day. I have noted some dates already for the coming movies to watched on my list ok let me remember: for October i marked a date for "my sister's keeper" and on November, of course, "new moon"... just can't wait to see them already. Other nice movie trailers i've seen also just don't know the date yet. Watching movie is one of my favorite hobbies as well.

STARTING OFF

The Flyer, Singapore

Always passing this road on my way home from the office. This is one of the largest observatory in the world. Riding this will let you see Singapore in 360 view. But frankly, been here for years but still didn't try it out yet. Not that i got fear of heights, coz i don't have, just that i got no time to do it and share the moment with. Maybe next time when my nephew and nieces travel again here for vacation. By the way, photos i posted here and for future posts will be taken by mobile phone. My cam isn't fixed yet. So sad for me coz i really do love taking photos all around me. Now, getting a pro cam (canon 40D) is on my top of the gadgets-to-buy list..LOL! And for the meantime...i need to bear using the handphone cam.

This is my first post for this blog. I am using this template and background temporarily coz i plan to make it out of the photos which will be taken by me and my cam...hopefully soon! I created this blog coz i don't have time to write on my journals with such busy schedules and since i am always online, i decided why not just blog about it. This will be like a photo blog kinda thing and telling of my day as well. I got other sites as well so i think it will be a little hard to posts daily. But i will try my best to update regularly. So I guess this is it for now. :)
